Sign of the Week - TOY!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We spent the Christmas weekend in California, and took our kids to Legoland. They had a blast! This week's sign is "Toy".

Sign of the Week - COLD!

In keeping with a winter theme, the Sign of the Week is COLD! My daughter Audra loves to use this sign. At her daycare, the teacher likes to give them frozen fruit pieces - and Audra always signs "Cold" to me when she picks up a piece and puts it in her mouth.

Sign of the Week - SNOW!

I know we don't get much snow down here in Phoenix - but this is a fun and easy sign to learn. It has been pretty "cold" for us Phoenicians, but we'll still have to drive up north to see any of the white stuff. :)

December Session begins this Saturday, December 5th!

My Smart Hands - Phoenix is starting the Level 1 December Session on Saturday, December 5th at 9:30am!

In these 4-week classes, you will learn over 100 signs to use with your child. Some of the ASL vocabulary covered during this session include: everyday words, family, food, animals, emotions, opposites, bed time and play signs. Classes are 1 hour in length and are created for parents/caregivers and babies. In a playful, educational and language-rich environment, caregivers and children will build their American Sign Language (ASL) vocabulary through instruction, interactive games and songs. We will discuss the benefits of using ASL with infants and toddlers, you will learn recommended first signs, as well as easy techniques for successfully integrating signs into everyday life.
